Calgary Flames’ 2015 draft pick Oliver Kylington has been selected by the Brandon Wheat Kings, 60th overall, in the 2015 CHL Import Draft.

“Oliver is a tremendous talent that will be an impact player at the major junior level,” Brandon general manager and head coach Kelly McCrimmon told the team’s website. “He’s currently under contract in Sweden … so his availability to play in Brandon is uncertain at this time but we will work with the Flames and Oliver’s representatives to confirm his status.”

The Flames drafted the Swedish defenceman 60th overall in the 2015 NHL Draft. Kylington split the 2014-15 season between Farjestads BK Karlstad (Swedish Hockey League) and AIK (Allsvenskan). He also spent time with Farjestad’s junior team, registering four goals and seven points in 10 appearances.

He was sixth in the NHL Central Scouting Service’s final rankings of European skaters.

“Prior to the start of the year, this guy was talked about as one of the top players in the draft. An elite skater. As good a skater as there is in the draft,” Flames general manager Brad Treliving said on Saturday.
